Bandagios, Seaforms and Fluted Bowls are created from a basic blown glass form known as a Rondelle. Many layers of clear glass and selections of colored glass are formed into a bowl, and then spun on the end of a pipe into a flattened disc shape. This flattened disc shape allows for different design potential than the typical vessel form.

Cast Glass Sculpture by Dutch Schulze

Dutch began sculpting over 30 years ago, long before he became a glass-blower. He always creates his original models in clay, then uses the lost wax process to reproduce them in glass. Actually the glass he casts into sculpture is crystal, which is different than that used for blowing glass, because of its excellent optical qualities. The crystal sculptures seem to glow as if they had an inner light source. He approaches sculpture in a traditional manner, which sets him apart from almost all other artists sculpting in glass. His subjects, which are usually the human form, are portrayed in a representational, if somewhat stylized manner. Dutch strives to create forms that will utilize the crystal to its greatest advantage, capturing the light, but with an apparently soft surface. No one else creates work quite like this.

Cast Glass Memorial Urns

Memorial Urns
Our “Memorial Urns” are designed to be the centerpiece of the memorial service. They are cast from New Zealand crystal, and have the appearance of being hand carved from a translucent stone such as Jade or Alabaster. We have incorporated copper closures that allow the lid to be easily opened, closed, and fastened securely. This allows the option of being able to disperse or divide the ashes. The urn itself may then become a memorial for the departed. We have endeavored to create some of the finest vessels in the world, with the awareness that your memorial urn will become a permanent family heirloom that will pass through time, unchanged for generations to come
